I’m excited to announce that my weekly column about walking, “The Friendly City,” will run during 2024 in my local independent newspaper, The Harrisonburg Citizen. Each week, I’ll reflect on a walk in Harrisonburg, VA (a town nicknamed the Friendly City). I’m interested in walking as part of a creative practice; the discipline of a weekly writing deadline; walkability as an aspect of livability; weather; community; and conveying the feeling of a place.
